Nibbles Sandwich Bar has a taste for success in Paisley. Boss Maria Aitken opened the Johnston Street-based business 27 years ago and with her mouth-watering array of sandwiches, baguettes, baked potatoes plus piping-hot soups it has been top of the menu for the legion of fans. She said: “I opened Nibbles 28 years ago come October and it was previously McMillan’s the bakers. “I don’t where the time has gone, but we must be doing something right because we are still here! “Seriously, we have a good, regular clientele and have quite a few customers from Renfrewshire Council who pop in for their lunches. “We provide a variety of sandwiches, toasties, hot and cold filled rolls plus baguettes and toasted wraps too. “Our special is the soup and sandwich deal for £3.10 which has proved really popular. “We open at 6 am from Monday to Friday and are busy from the start preparing freshly made sandwiches and rolls. “We close at 2.45 pm and on Saturdays we are open from 7 am until 1 pm.” Paisley’s first town centre gable end is being painted at the end of Johnston Street and it’s expected that the attraction will lure a lot of potential customers to the area. Maria added: “That will be good for the town and hopefully good for business too by bringing a few new faces here looking for something to eat and drink. “I certainly hope so!”
